What Is Freeze-Dried Fruit?

Freeze-drying is a way of removing water from fruit while keeping much of its flavour, colour and structure.

Fresh fruit is frozen, then placed under low pressure so the ice turns straight to vapour without passing through a liquid phase. What is left is light, crisp and concentrated in flavour.

Because most of the water is removed, freeze-dried fruit keeps well in a sealed pack. It is a convenient way to keep fruit to hand.

Single-fruit options contain just the fruit. Check the ingredient list on each product page to be sure.
